This week’s theme for LensProtoGo’s 52 Week Project was “CYOA”, or “Choose Your Own Adventure”. Since I was in the land of beautiful things, aka California I decided to just let this one happen organically and not think about it too much. My camera is always by my side so I knew I’d come across something beautiful. And one day we decided to go to the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla. It’s not the biggest aquarium I’ve seen but what they do have is really beautiful. And they’ve got some great tidal pools and they let you touch the urchins, starfish and anemones!
But what really caught my eye was the stunning jellyfish and sea horse collection there. I really like this jellyfish, and the way this photo looks like it was taken it outer space. It has a very alien-like quality to it.
And that’s it folks! That is the last installment of the 52 Week Project. It was a lot of fun, and I liked the weekly photo challenge. It was nice to get out there with a purpose and try to intentionally shoot something. I think this actually made me get out and shoot more photographs then I usually would. And especially of different things that I might not think of on my own to shoot. LensProtoGo will name an overall winner soon and I’ll post how that all turns out. They did name a quarterly winner for the first quarter awhile back and I actually won! I got some suite software, the Perfect Photo Suite by OnOneSoftware, I was totally shocked and honored to have won something. If you’re interested they are running the contest again for 2013, but I will not be participating because my freelance web design work has really multiplied and I’ve got to focus my attention elsewhere. 2013 is going to be a good year!
