This week’s theme for LensProtoGo’s 52 Week Project was “round”. My idea was very simple this time. I just took our matching mixing bowls and placed them in the light of the sun at sunset. I wanted to take the “bowl”-ness away and make it more abstract. I like repetition and how the golden highlights accent the abstract curves.
Week 39 – Funny
This week’s theme for LensProtoGo’s 52 Week Project was “Funny”. I shot some family portraits this weekend, and immediately knew that photo I could use. There was the hilarious moment where the father wanted to pose with his son and two of their dogs. And apparently one of the dogs smelled really bad and farted on top of it all. I love … Read More
Week 38 – Pink
This week’s theme for LensProtoGo’s 52 Week contest was “Pink”. With Breast Cancer Awareness month coming up, I realized I could do something like that but I tried to think of pink objects instead. And as I thought about anything pink that I owned, I realized that I didn’t have much pink now, but a time that I did in … Read More
Week 37 – Football
This week’s theme for LensProtoGo’s 52 Week Project was “Football”. I thought I could do something really cool with the television, since that’s the only real access to football I have. So I set up my tripod and did a couple long exposure shots of the TV. Luckily, I have DVR so I found a sweet play and played it … Read More
Week 36 – Sunset
This week’s theme for LensProtoGo’s 52 Week Project was “Sunset”. Literally this week it has done nothing but rain in South Carolina. So I had to go back into my archives and find a good sunset. And this photo was actually from a recent visit to my family in San Diego. We spent the day at La Jolla, CA and … Read More
Week 35 – Looking Out
This week’s theme for LensProtoGo’s 52 Week Project was “Looking Out”. I didn’t have a plan for this one, but I was going up to Maryland to shoot a friend’s wedding, so I knew I’d come across something. I actually did catch this shot until the tail end of our weekend. I wanted to visit my grandparents grave at Arlington … Read More
Week 34 – Vegetables
This week’s theme from LensProtoGo’s 52 Week Project was “Vegetables”. My friends from Illinois we’re visiting and I knew somehow I needed to incorporate their beautiful daughter into my photos. She has this gorgeous red hair and I just envisioned her playing with carrots as orange red as her hair. And I went to the store looking for carrots that … Read More
Week 33 – Red
This week’s theme for LensProtoGo’s 52 Week Project was “Red”. I decided to take the self portrait route and put on a red lip. I used a tripod, and my Cheetah softbox with a SB-600. I like how clean, bright and fresh it is. This photo was chosen in the best of weekly wrap up blog post, read and see … Read More
Week 32 – Motion
This week’s theme for LensProtoGo’s 52 Week Project was “motion”. And instantly what came to my mind is my dogs, Kona and Ruca, they are constantly in motion. They like to use our living room sectional as a running track. And Ruca, the german shepherd, always wants to play. And will do anything, I mean anything to catch a ball before it … Read More
Week 31 – Friendship
This week’s theme for LensProtoGo’s 52 Week Project was “Friendship”. I always try to think a little outside the box and what might be “expected” for the theme. So I chose to go the route of timeless pairings of things…like peanut butter & jelly, or oreos and milk in this case. A perfect pairing, a friendship until the end. I … Read More
