To keep my creative juices flowing—and the camera in my hand—I decided to participate in Lens Pro to Go’s 52 Week Photo Project. Each week everyone posts a photo in the Flickr group based on the theme that Lens Pro to Go decides on.
The first week of January was “A Self Portrait Without You In it”. I gathered as much stuff that represented me that I could easily get my hands on and photographed the things that weren’t physically present that make me who I am, (the photos of my family posted in the background). And you know what’s not easy, getting a bunch of stuff together that means something to you when you just moved into your new house! But I did it, lugged everything out the backdoor and took some photos in the yard at night. Which I’m sure looked alarming to my neighbors, a bunch flashes firing in the back yard. So my apologies. I used my SB-600 with a Cheetah Qbox 24, a Nikon D90 and a Nikkor 24-70mm. So just a single light source, and I really like the dramatic effect.
